| « The Academic CHAMBER CHOIR from Kostroma |
was created in 2004. It became the successor of the Municipal academic choral chapel which was headed by the  honored artist of RF E.Safronova for at least 45 years. A.Melkov, the young conductor, the graduate of Russian Gnesins Academy of Music (Moscow), the winner of the Russian competition of choral conductors, the student of Safronova was invited to head the collective. In 2011 A.Melkov the graduate of Russian Gnesins Academy of Music, opera-symphony orchestra conductor. Now – conductor of the Governor's State Philharmonic Orchestra of the Kostroma region.
The structure of collective includes artists with the great singing experience, boundless devoted to the choral art. For the short time the chamber chorus approved itself as the collective of a high level of mastery. Its repertoire includes secular and spiritual arts of Russian and foreign composers of the XVth-  XXIst centuries, the arts of the large form for execution with a symphonic orchestra. Since 2007 the chorus was included into the staff of the State philharmonic society of the Kostroma region, becoming the first professional choral collective in Kostroma history. During its activity the collective received the high estimation of professionals. The professor of Russian Gnesins, Academy of Music, the Honored artist of the RE, V.Semenuk, the Honored arist of RF L.Popova, the art director of the State chapel (St.-Peterburg), the National artist of the USSR V.Chernushenko, the art director of a symphonic orchestra of the Yaroslavl state philharmonic society, the National artist of RF M.Annamedov. 2008 Opera by G.Donizetti “L ‘Elisir damore”. S.Rachmaninov “Liturgy of St.John Chrysostom”. P.Tchaikovsky the Cantata “Moscow”, with a participation of the Governar’s symphonic orchestra.The XVIth International festival of choral bell music “Preobrazhenie” named by E.Kolobov. K.Orff, cantata ‘Karmina burana”. S.Prokofev, cantata “Aleksandr Nevsky”. 2009 Bishop Illarion ‘The Christmas oratorio”.
