«  St. Petersburg Conservatory STUDENT CHOIR
The Choir was founded in 1925 as a study collective of a Choral/Conducting department of the St.Petersburg Conservatory. From the first years of its existence the Choir has become an important part of the city's culture life, performing choral music of Russian composers, Western classics, and modern pieces that just have been written. Among the leaders of the collective were such great masters of the art of choral conducting as: À.À.Egorov, N.V. Mikhailov,
I.I. Poltavtsev, V.V. Nesterov. Since the year of 1982 the Choir is led by a head of Choral Conducting department, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Prof. Valeriy Uspenskiy.
The Choir is giving concerts in the biggest concert halls of St.Petersburg and other cities of Russia, also in Europe: Litva, Latvia, Estonia, France, Italy, Holland, Germany, Spain, Poland. The collective has won a 3-rd prize and a Grand-Prix for the best performance of a mandatory work at an International Choral Festival in Holland (1992), 1-st prize at  XXVIII International Choral Festival of Church Music in Poland (2009), as well as two Golden medals at a 1st Choral Olympics in Lintz, Austria (2000). The Choir has performed in collaboration with such conductors as D.Oistrakh, K.Abbado, L.Kremer, Y.Temirkanov, M.Jansons, A.Dmitriev, V.Fedoseev, R.Martynov, A.Titov, V.Ziva and M.Rostropovitch.
Conductor Anton Maksimov (1977). In 2000 has with distinction graduated the St.-Petersburg conservatory on a speciality choral conducting in a class of the professor, the national actress of Russia E.P. Kudrjavtseva. In 1999-2000 taught in Petrozavodsk state conservatory. In 2000-2002 trained, then worked as the assistant in a class of professor E.P. Kudrjavtseva. Since 1995 works as the chorus master of chorus of boys of Choral school of M.I. Glinka. As the conductor-chorus master with success performed several concerts with chorus of boys in St.-Petersburg, Surgut, Slovenia.
With chorus and orchestra “Gracias” acted in Madison Square Garden (New York) and many concert halls of South Korea (including Sejong Center in Seoul). Now – the assistant to the rector of the St.-Petersburg conservatory, the teacher of choral conducting and the chorus master of chorus of students of the St.-Petersburg conservatory. Prepared chorus for execution of concert programs under control of outstanding modern musicians: Yury Temirkanov, Sergey Stadler, Maris Jansons, Alexander Titov, Vasily Sinajsky.
