An International festival of
Orthodox sacred music CREDO which was set up in 1994 for study, preservation, and progress of Orthodox musical culture, becomes an important event of musical life every September. Masterly performances, varieties of concert programmes, a considerable increase of interest in Orthodox culture in the contemporary world give promise to make the festival a great event on a European scale.

Church and monastery choirs, secular choirs that have Orthodox repertoire, and children’s choirs of high masterly execution participate in the festival.

One of the festival’s aims is a study of reception of ancient Orthodox culture in contemporary sacred music.

The International festival of Orthodox music CREDO is a member of an Estonian Music Festivals’ Association since the autumn 2002, and together with it the festival is a member of an European Festivals Association (EFA) since the autumn 2002.
